More on the life of a yaya/ teacher

Ok. So I missed the meeting last Friday. No one told me about it being a lunch meeting. They were almost done when I got there. Yeah, they were just finishing up their food. Hehehe!:) I basically missed everything.:(

On yesterday's lake clean up...

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to go straight to the lake or wait for the people to get here in school. After waiting for a couple of minutes, I decided to go to the lake. Hah, I went there by myself. The lake is just a few blocks away from here. I walked to the lake while I munch on some carrot sticks. Oh, I was lucky enough to find a few of my students. I wasn't so lost anymore.:) We sat there by the stairs and waited for others to come. I applied sun screen, knowing fully that some people might find it odd. But I don't want to take things for granted. I don't want to risk going out without protection from the sun anymore. I don't want to look like a big freckle! Hahaha!:) I saw this ad on getting rid of freckles. There were testimonies from females aged 45 or so. Ngyar! So my condition's comparable to theirs? Hehehe!:) Should I try that drug or not?:) Anyway, we took our time picking up trash as we go round the lake. We found a water source about halfway across the lake. We washed our hands with the soap (of some unknown person) and had our snacks. We had Clover, Ritz and Gatorade. We even shared our food with the two little girls who live across the street. When we were done eating, we were branded by the people in the community as the lollipop group. At least we had a group name.:) I'd say we really took our time walking and cleaning up. We even sat down on the benches of a view deck. Hehehe!:) It was a first for me, to really pick up dirty eeky stuff.:) It was fun. I had to really clean up (myself) after but I had fun.:)

Where shall my next trip be? Aaah, yah, I know. We're going to our "bukid" on Thursday. I choose to call it bukid because it's about 10 or 15 minutes away from the heart of the city. I'll be a "taga-bukid" a few years from now. Oh my!:) And my friend, Mac, was telling me people there in the south calls the teacher maestra. So I will be something like a maestrang taga-bukid. Waaah!!! What a scary thought!:)

Umm... It's almost april.
