It's finally out. The article I wrote for Masigasig is finally out. It's in the June 2007 issue of Masigasig.

Duhat and old students
Duhat and old students, how does that sound to you?
I don't know why but I like duhat. I vaguely remember buying duhat while I was still in grade school. My parents, my family, I'm not sure if they eat duhat. So we don't really have duhat at home. I mean no one buys that fruit. So I don't really know if it's in season or not. Yeah, like when to look for it. I remember asking my mom, a couple of weeks/ months ago, if we have Santol, Kamias, guava, mango, mangosteen, pomelo in our farm lot... I was trying to recall every single fruit that I want to eat... and then I asked my mom if we have duhat there and we don't. And then I continued to bug her about other fruits that I like. I also like siniguelas and that fruit from Tita Therese (pretty much like siniguelas but it's green) and camachile and I also like those wild berries they call sampinit. Anyway, sabi ng mommy ko bumili na lang daw ako ng mga fruits na gusto ko. hahaha!:) Oh, but last Saturday, as we were giving away flyers, I saw duhat on a fruit stand. Well, it wasn't exactly a fruit stand but they sell duhat. Oh, and I don't have money... not even a single cent in my pocket. Luckily, I was with Ate Lina (the store manager of Data Exchange) and I got my duhat, my duhat, yehey!:) I washed them with water as soon as we got home. I placed them on a bowl. I added some salt. But it didn't taste right. I was really excited to get duhat but it didn't taste right. Well, I don't exactly remember how it should taste like. So I added more salt and it still didn't feel right so I kept the bowl of duhat in the refrigerator. I was disappointed. Then my mom said something like maybe I should try covering the bowl so I can shake it. I did just that and there, that's the kind of duhat that I like. Happy.:) I should get more fruits.:)
My old students, that's another story. It's a holiday. I have plenty of time to spare so I get to check my Friendster, tagged, blog etc. I also found myself checking out the profiles and pictures of old students and friends. Some of my old students are now 15, 16... wow... and they've matured. They were my babies and now they talk of being heart broken and all. I'm old.
END!:)

...
Ang cute pakinggan at basahin pag entirely written in Filipino, noh?:)
Basta, the whole week nagchecheck ako kung may mga naiwang naka-on na computer, electric fan, aircon, AVR, monitor, hub, exhaust fan, and ilaw. I also make sure na nabubuksan and napapatay ang signage, ang spotlight. I also try to make sure na may bantay sa both buildings. Ano pa bang ginagawa ko? Aaah, nag-i-inventory rin. Ang daming work, malapit na magpasukan.
Earlier today nga pala, meron kaming the case of the missing bond paper. 1 ream of long bond paper... gone. Ang labo, noh? Bakit? San ginamit/ napunta ang 1 ream ng papel? ...ang dami naman non.
oh, well. gotta rest and prepare my stuff for tom

Extra! Extra! Read all about it.
1. I wrote an article (if you'll call it an article) for Masigasig. It was sooo long and Rheea had a hard time cutting it short. Haha!:)
2. I'm currently taking up Creative Selling Techniques in UP ISSI, together with Thina. Yes, I'm trying to bring out the salesperson in me. In any line of work, you have to know how to sell your product/ services... so maybe you should enroll too. Hahaha!:) Our resource speaker is Mr. Paulo Lao. He's good and he doesn't look intimidating. Sana nga makagawa ako ng sales plan. Sana I can wow everyone with my outputs/ presentations blah. Kaya lang mabagala talaga akong magwork eh. Haaay!!!
3. I was reading my old posts. Nakakatawa. Kung anu-anong mga sinusulat ko. Haha!:)
4. Teach!!! Uwi na.
5. Going back to my CST class, I need to prepare the materials for the sales plan kasi next Sat parang show and tell kami ng groupmates ko. That way, makakapili kami kung kaninong company ang iprepresent sa last meeting. Hmm... Ano kayang maganda? Maybe I should make a shorter version of the AVP for my preschoolers... o general na lang like with no names. Hmm...
Oh, well. I better start working.

=) =(
happy face, sad face, naiinis, natutuwa, nababaliw
-My bro is (more or less) officially daddy gil. Well, they're still in the hospital waiting for baby Erynne Isobel to come out. I wonder what's taking her so long. I wonder when I'll get to see my niece. Hmm... Perhaps we can visit her sometime during the holy week.
-I salute teachers, particularly those with advisory sections. Ang hirap ng ginagawa nila. Mahirap gumawa ng grades for individual subjects (have to check papers, quizzes, exams, projects, grade children for recitation, behavior, attendance blah... buti na lang may excel that you don't have to compute them manually). Mahirap magconsolidate ng grades. Mahirap magsulat sa card, gumawa ng promotional report, mag fill up ng form137. ugh! Ang dami. We have to finish all of those in so little time. Huwaah! Actually we're relatively lucky bec we have the promotional report in excel format so we don't have to really write things down one by one. But still, huwaaah!!! Nakakahilo. I just finished checking if what's written in my consolidation is the same as those in the rating sheets (from indiv subject teachers). Sure that sounds easy to you but actually that's not. It took me what? 3 hrs. I had to check each rating sheet. That's 8 subjects for 4 quarters. That's 32 rating sheets. Madali pa rin for you? No, that's not it. I also had to check kung tama yung na-encode nila for the previous quarters. kasi cumulative yung grade so pag mali ang encode nila for an earlier quarter, mali yung computed grade. Example: 4th quarter grade in English, kailangan ko pa ring i-check kung tama yung 1st, 2nd, 3rd qtr grade nya in that particular rating sheet. Hah, complicated. Tedious. Ugh.
-Wala pa akong copy ng attendance. Buhuhu!
-Hindi pa ko nakagawa ng AVP for my preschoolers. I need that by Fri am. Wala pa ring certificates and buttons. Lahat. Huwaah. Will have the buttons ready by tom (sana... GI!!!). BJ, certificates.... hah, di pa rin ako nakagawa ng citations. huwaah!!!:'(
-I'm eating tortillos... hardly appreciating it. Brain not functioning that well to even appreciate the tortillos. I want more C2 but it's in the ref downstairs. Huwaaah!!!:'(
-I don't want to eat tortillos anymore.
-I don't know what to do next. I'm so tired and mejo slow nako but I have to keep on working to beat the deadline. I have to prepare another list of things to do to make sure that I finish everything on time.
-I guess I better go back to work now.
